RESIDENCY GRANTS AT CACIS

The CACiS residency offers basic conditions for research and study with full access to nature, so that artists can find an ideal working environment in terms of space, concentration and amenities . The unique identity of the CACis (Centre for Contemporary Art and Sustainability) allows it to become a place where works not possible in other locations can be rehearsed and completed. The centre’s philosophy and its radical nature make this a residency where projects and creators submitting applications must already have a markedly different profile.

Arts Discipline

Projects from visual arts, dramatic arts, performance, thought and contemplation, intervention in the landscape and research into new languages connected to sustainability and environmental protection (not exclusively arts-related).

Project Types

  • Projects related to education and art in the natural environment
  • Projects related to the body, nature and the landscape
  • No project. Participation in maintenance and improvement works for the CACIS spaces (dry stone installations/restoration/forestry and orchard work)

Length of Residency

15-45 days (between March and November 2019)

Main Venue

Centre d’Art Contemporani i Sostenibilitat (CACiS) El Forn de la Calç
08275 Calders (Barcelona Province)
www.elforndelacalc.cat

Deadline

20 February 2019

Conditions

Residencies include accommodation for artists (maximum of 4) and a work space. They do not include travel or food, but will search for sponsors for the projects. The Centre will help artists to make necessary contacts with the local population and the material and service providers relevant to their research.

Participation in the residency assumes acceptance of its rules and regulations.

The centre’s management reserves the right to cancel the residency of those participants initially admitted if it finds: a substantial change in the initial project that was an object of selection | subsequent discovery of falsification of information provided by the candidate in their application | any irregular or offensive attitude.
