EN RESIDÈNCIA is a pioneering program that introduces contemporary creation to public secondary education centers through direct and continuous contact with students. It has been developed since 2009 by the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB) and the Barcelona Consortium of Education (CEB), and was devised in cooperation with the Association A Bao A Qu.

Creators intervene in institutes as authors, developing a work of their own, and transmission is mainly through participation, dialogue and direct contact with the work and its creator. Reflection and analysis are also very important parts of the learning process. Fabra i Coats: Fàbrica de Creació will be incorporated into its 14th edition, which will be developed during the 2022-2023 course.

Through this direct contact between art and education, the aim of the project is threefold:

• Providing students to discover the processes of contemporary creation from contact and dialogue with a creator, they think about art from their own experience.

• Promote and generate situations and contexts that stimulate artistic innovation and creativity.

• Help institutes to become active spaces for culture, art and thought, place of creation and space for artistic experimentation and innovation.
