Resolutions of the Barcelona Crea Grants – Creative Factories 2024 and 2025

La Escocesa, La Caldera, Graner, and Sala Beckett, as well as Homesession, have already announced the projects selected this year.

In 2025, the various Creative Factories are launching the Barcelona Crea – Creative Factories Grants 2025, an initiative supported by the Institute of Culture of Barcelona (ICUB) aimed at supporting the stages prior to production that accompany the development of artistic proposals: conceptualization, gestation, research, experimentation, documentation, and rehearsal. Some of the Factories have already announced the results of their open calls.

This is the case of La Escocesa, which, among the 200 applications received, has selected the following projects:

  • Helen Torres – Semillero para el Chthuluceno: A collective and situated speculative fabulation exercise that will collect and generate terms to nourish the compost of La Escocesa, enriching these “cultivation zones that are the framework of thinking, values, and intentions that nourish and shape everything that happens at La Escocesa.”
  • Arelis Magdalena Benítez Rosario and Patri Vizcaino Villalón – Influencias Negras y Caribeñas en la globalización: Diálogo visual y sonoro: A research project on how Black and Caribbean aesthetics and sounds shape the artistic landscape of the Global North.
  • Pantea Armanfar – Alteradio: A community ecological radio project developed at La Escocesa by the collective So, which includes the Soundcamp Cooperative and artist Pantea. The aim is to create a mobile ecological radio studio using DIY devices and participatory methods such as sound walks, workshops, and collaborative gatherings.
