16th Summer Workshop
During the month of July, Sala Beckett will be hosting a diverse programme of arts and training activities.
From 4 to 30 July, the sixteenth edition of the Sala Beckett Summer Workshop will be taking place. The programme includes a wide range of educational activities, with intensive courses, arts events and opportunities for reflection with dramatised readings, lectures and the new project Dramawalker, promoted by the National Drama Centre in collaboration with Sala Beckett, Grupo Chévere and the Centro Dramático Galego. Dramawalker are stories created by playwrights associated with the programme based on accounts given by local residents which have led to a series of audio fictions that come to life in an interactive way when people walk down the streets featured in the stories.
With regard to the classes and workshops, these include proposals delivered by professionals from the international arena, such as playwright Simon Stephens, immersive technology expert Stefan Kaegi (from Rimini Protokoll) and author and director Mohamed El Khatib. Àlex Rigola, Victoria Szpunberg and Pablo Messiez, among others, will also be offering courses on performance, stage research and theatre art both for beginners and performing arts professionals.
