FEMINISM, PRESENT IN THE CULTURAL RIGHTS PLAN
Barcelona pushes for a new government measure to ensure the right to a diverse and equitable culture.
What are the most important aspects of this new measure to be incorporated into the public policy developed by the ICU, as well as into all the projects and organisms in which it participates?
-
To ensure the balanced presence of women and men in decision-making positions.
-
Deepen the analysis of cultural reality by applying gender perspective.
-
Advance to gender-equal cultural programming.
-
Avoid stereotypes of sexist and androcentric genres in programming and communication.
-
Promote spaces of reflection on how to apply the feminist perspective to the city's policies and cultural action.
-
Apply intersectional perspective to take into account other axes of inequality (class, origin, race, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability), as well as gender.
Among the creation lines stand out:
-
Create a sexually motivated harassment protocol, gender identity and gender expression in cultural activity.
-
Promote gender perspective in subsidies.
-
Impulse a new study on gender perspective in municipal cultural programming.
-
Study a bonus system in the prices of cultural activities with a gender perspective.
-
Promote conciliation services to municipal equipment.
-
Incorporate gender perspective in the design and rehabilitation of cultural equipment, as well as in public procurement.
The measure is called feminist culture: the right to a diverse and equitable culture, it corresponds to the fifth of the nine axes where the Cultural Rights Plan is structured. The document is an ambitious and pioneering strategy that will be worked progressively with the aim of strengthening democratic life and incorporating the cultural fabric and all municipal areas into the design and implementation of local cultural policies.
