2019 Cal Gras Artistic Creation Residencies

Cal Gras can be considered a Hostel of Culture, though in other contexts it might also be described as an artists’ residency, production centre, artistic creation, centre etc. Its regular operation, though, is a hostel centred on art and place/territory.

The Hostel, seen in its entirety, is a country house with various work spaces and rooms fitted out for creative work, experimentation, meetings, exchange of ideas and documentation. A residence intended to offer temporary community accommodation with various bedrooms (18 spaces), kitchen, dining rooms, living rooms, courtyard, etc.

Culture is understood here in its widest sense to open it up to anyone interested in culture in general, philosophy, art and coexistence. In the same line of thinking, it also includes any language, discipline, form of knowledge, discipline, activity, etc.

Cal Gras works particularly towards interaction between residents and the land/region with a view to enabling exchange and cultural dialogue.
