4th Born Award Theatre Creation Residency
Residency announcement from the Cercle Artístic in Ciutadella (Menorca) as part of the celebration of the 43rd Born de Teatre Award

Theatre companies and collective theatre projects and productions.
Theatre projects will be accepted for productions of classic texts, contemporary texts, new playwriting texts (originals or adaptations) and collective creations.

Two weeks, from 4 to 18 October 2018.

Terms
What the Cercle Artístic is offering
- Rehearsal space
- Performance space
- Permission to use the infrastructure
- Return ferry trip to Menorca for participants and their vehicles on one of Baleària’s routes
- Accommodation for the company
- A meal allowance of €120 per person, receipts required
- The possibility of extending the stay in Menorca to participate in and attend the events taking place for the 43rd Born de Teatre Award
The chosen company commits to:
- The company will be responsible for providing the props and technical materials that are required for their residency
- The chosen company commits to putting on a performance/rehearsal of the production that will be open to the general public after the residency period finishes (Wednesday 17 October 2018), and also to delivering a class for performing arts students from IES Josep Maria Quadrado de Ciutadella.
- The company commits to visibly and expressly mentioning the “IV RESIDÈNCIA DE CREACIÓ TEATRAL PREMI BORN” (“4TH PREMI BORN THEATRE CREATION RESIDENCY”) in every production (theatre, film, TV, etc.) and any publications that feature the selected project, as well as any advertisements and posters, if applicable. Mentions must also appear in a prominent position on any publicity in any media.
The Board of Directors of the Cercle Artístic reserves the right to cancel the activity.
Submitting projects for the 4th Theatre Creation Residency implies full acceptance of the bases. The organising entity retains the power of final decision on any matters not included in the terms.
Selection
The Board of Directors of the Cercle Artístic will be responsible for selecting a project from among those submitted.

Application process
In order to be eligible for the Creation Residency, each company must submit a project in PDF format to premiborndeteatre@gmail.com which should contain the following:
- Artistic proposal:
- Project title and brief explanation of the work that will be developed
- The chosen text and a justification of this choice, if applicable
- Specific requirements for the rehearsal space, technical needs
- A plan for the stages of the residency
- Company:
- Name and contact details of the company and the project participants
- Exact number of people who will participate in the residency (this will be considered as the final number of participants for the project, and cannot be changed at a later date)
- CV of each of the company members or project participants, and the CV of the company, if applicable
- Annexes: as many as is deemed appropriate by the company or the project participants
The Board of Directors of the Cercle Artístic has the power to reject any projects that do not meet all the requirements listed above.
