Summer Sessions Exchange Bursary 2019
The Summer Sessions are short-term international residencies in art and technology for emerging artists and designers. They enable a network of cultural organisations from all over the globe to sponsor and host residencies.
This year Hangar will sponsor an artist from Spain to take part in the programme and spend two month working at the V2_Lab (Rotterdam).

Target Candidate
Artists and designers under 35 working in art and technology and/or have graduated within the last five years and live in Spain.
Residency Duration
Each Summer Session residency is approximately eight weeks in length and takes place between June and September. During this period the artist will develop a project from conception to presentable work (ready to be displayed). The residency dates will be confirmed with the receiving institution.

Benefits and Endowments
- Maintenance Allowance: 1.500 € (750 € / month)
- Fees: 500 €
- Production Costs: 750 €
- Flight Allowance: 200 €
- Accommodation: 800 €
* The residency does not include medical insurance. Artists must secure personally their own medical insurance contract valid for the residency period.
Conditions
Selected artists will commit to:
- Participating during their residency in communication activities
- Providing a final project report to the centres involved together with an evaluation of the residency at some point during the two months after its conclusion
- Producing a presentation of the end results at the end of the residency

Application Submission
- Applications must be submitted at the Summer Sessions online platform: www.summersessions.net/apply
- Candidates must create a two minute video in which they explain their project and how they will complete it during the Summer Sessions. There are no restrictions on subject matter for the project. Applicants must bear in mind that no additional material may be sent, written or otherwise. Candidates will be selected on the basis of the videos only. These must be uploaded to YouTube o Vimeo*.
- Each artist may submit an application for one project only.

* Youtube allows videos to be uploaded and configured so that they are invisible without a URL. In the case of Vimeo, videos can be configured so that they can only be seen by introducing a password.
