A clear and recent example of environmental participation and citizen science is the project Atrapa el Tigre! It is an alert system created to make, in a collaborative way, a follow-up as comprehensive as possible of the tiger mosquito. Citizen participation allows identifying the distribution of the insect and its expansion.
To this end, the project has an App, Tigatrapp, designed so that citizens, from their mobile phones, can report the location of a tiger mosquito or a breeding place. To participate in the project, download the app, submit your findings and photos and validate those of the others.
And remember, be careful it stings!
