This seminar is the continuation of an earlier seminar that used E. S. Said's Orientalism (1978) as a starting point to reflect on the concept of Orientalism and its further derivations, what we call orientalisms and post-orientalisms. On this occasion we will dwell on the ways in which these images of "orient" get reshaped due to social and political events, focusing on how the knowledge about "orient" is built both in Europe and in Middle-East conflicts. With the participation of Gema Martín Muñoz, Professor of Sociology of the Arab and Islamic World, and arabist Víctor Pallejà de Bustinza.
