Definition
Casa Àsia is a consortium formed by the City Council of Barcelona, the city Council of Madrid, the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation through its Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development. It was created in 2001.
The Directory of Casa Àsia, as well as the members of the Consortium, the founder members, also groups together the Board of Trustees (Melià Hotels Internacional; Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports; Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism; La Caixa; Hyundai; Port of Barcelona; Técnicas Reunidas; Fundació ACS, and Telefónica), the collaborating companies, the official suppliers and providers, the Network of Cases and the Asiatic centres in Europe.
Goals
- To strengthen the knowledge and dialogue about Asia
- Analysis and discussion about civic, political, cultural, economic and environmental topics
- To provide support in activities and projects for the promotion of the relation between the Asiatic and Spanish societies

The City Council of Barcelona is founder member of the Consortium.
