Information

The protocol of friendship and cooperation between the city of Isfahan and Barcelona  was signed on 14th January 2000 with an indefinite duration.

The aim of the agreement is to promote a mutual cooperation between the two cities and exchange information and experiences in matters of municipal administration, especially in the fields of urban planning, economic development, environmental programmes, culture, tourism and sports, involving the respective civil societies in the spirit of the agreement. 

Within the framework of the agreement exchanges and technical assistance have taken place in question of transport and mobility, tourism and student exchanges. 

Apart from the bilateral relations, Barcelona and Isfahan also maintain contacts through being members of Metropolis, the International Association of Educating Cities and the League of Historic Cities.
