Care. People living in or providing care in Barcelona for people with illnesses, dependent people, those with disabilities or elderly people will get access to pricing 40% lower than market prices.
Holders of the Carer Card will have access to social pricing at a hundred dental clinics. The new agreement signed between Barcelona City Council and the Dental Clinic Association of Catalonia (AECAD) includes holders of this card among its beneficiaries of social pricing for dental treatment. On average this means that holders will be able to access services at prices 40% lower than the market price.
Check pricing: with the Carer Card, the price reduction applied is the same as for holders of the Pink Card.
To access services, go to the AECAD website to choose the dental surgery that suits you best and ask for an appointment. Remember to take your Carer Card with you on the day of the visit. If you need more information or have any queries, you can contact the Barcelona Cuida centre by phone on 934 132 121, by email at barcelona.cuida@bcn.cat or in person at C/ Viladomat, 127.
At present, 7,650 people have the Carer Card, a free card offering access to specialised services for carers. The card is available to people living in or providing care in Barcelona for people with illnesses, dependent people, those with disabilities or elderly people: carers close to the person receiving care and domestic and care workers.
Social Dental Service
The agreement is in line with the services promoted by Barcelona City Council to offer dental care to people with financial difficulties in paying market prices. In this respect, the free dentistry service was launched in 2018 and as of 31 August 2024 had received over 70,000 visits and attended to nearly 7,000 people. The Social Dental Service includes the following treatments: fillings, dental hygiene, dentures, root canal treatment.
Through measures such as this, the City Council seeks to reduce health inequalities linked to people’s social and economic position.
