The future is coming to Forum Edita

For the eighth year, this debate meeting is being held to talk about the major challenges, opportunities, and problems of the world of books and publishing.

On the 4th, 5th and 6th of September, will take place the 8th edition of the Forum Edita Barcelona, organised by the Gremi d’Editors de Catalunya (Editors’ Guil of Catlaonia) and the UPF Barcelona School of Management, and with the support of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Barcelona City Council, the Barcelona Provincial Council, and the Ministry of Culture and Sport. It will also count on the collaboration of EDITORS.CAT and the Federation of Publishers’ Guilds of Spain, and the sponsorship of CEDRO. It will take place at the UPF Barcelona School of Management (C/ Balmes, 132-134).

The meeting aims to discuss the major challenges, opportunities, and issues of the industry of books and publishing, with the presence of local and international experts. The title of this edition is “The coming future”, and, among other presentations and debates, specialists in the literary, technical and intellectual property fields will analyse the ways in which Artificial Intelligence will affect the book sector. For his part, the palaeontologist Juan Luis Arsuaga will bring together the forms of knowledge and reading of the most distant past with the changes that are being experienced today. Other proposals that stand out from the organisation are a round table on the massive return of young people to reading, and a meeting with the young best-selling author Joana Marcús.
