The Arxiu Fotogràfic de Barcelona (AFB) was created to preserve, treat, describe and disseminate the city’s photographic heritage. We preserve over three million photographs from 1844 to the present day.
Professional and amateur photographers, publishers, Barcelona celebrities, institutions, families, members of the public and the City Council itself have all contributed to this archives over the years.
Where to find us
On the second floor of the old Sant Agustí Convent, where we have a reference room, workrooms, laboratories, seven repositories designed for the safekeeping of the photographs and an exhibition room for periodically putting some of them on show.
