Family, friends and photography
The family photograph is one that has its origin in the nucleus of the family, either because it has been produced in that space, or because that is where it is kept. In general, it is a type of photograph that contributes to strengthening the internal ties of the family because those who are represented are the same people who make up the family. However, they can also include photographs that have originated in the specific activities of some of the members or that come from other close groups that are related to them.
The exhibition aims to highlight the value of family photography and its significant system, confirming its symbolic value in the place of origin and its documentary value in the territory of the archive. The exhibition also shows examples of how some professional photographers have approached this photographic modality, either through simple family practice or in the context of a creative project.
