Jordi Pol. Entre la multitud
Jordi Pol is a self-taught photographer. His photographs show the Barcelona of the 70s and 80s in a style that reminds us of the photography of the "decisive moment".
In 1979 he collaborates with the Barcelona International Photography Center and participates in their project to create a state of the art of the city's neighborhoods. One of the leitmotifs of the CIFB was, precisely, "street photography" or, as it is commonly known, street photography. Jordi Pol collaborated with reports in the neighborhoods of Ribera and Raval.
His knowledge of the photographic medium led him, between the years 1990 and 2000, to direct the Francesc Català-Roca Photography Space, a space for the dissemination of photography at the Casa Golferichs Civic Center of Barcelona City Council.
In 2019, he donated his fund, made up of more than thirty thousand negatives and contact sheets, prints and objects related to photography, to the Barcelona Photographic Archive.
