A story to support evicted families with children

The Raval Sud Social Services Centre has published the children’s story Jo et cuidaré (I’ll Look After You), about a social reality that many families unfortunately go through: eviction. The book is the work of a group of local women from El Raval who have been through the eviction process and talked about their experiences through this outlet.

This initiative emerged in 2019, when the affected families asked for help with explaining the loss entailed by eviction to their children.

Through a dialogue with the El Raval residents, the writer Anna Manso put together the plot of the story. Teresa Herrero’s illustrations were also created through collaboration with the women in the participation group.

The book includes a reading guide and questions for discussing it in schools.
