Grants for sprucing up shops and restaurants in Barcelona

Grants for sprucing up shops and restaurants in Barcelona

Barcelona City Council, through the Directorate for Business, Restaurants and Consumer Services, is once again launching the “Grants for sprucing up shops and restaurants in the city of Barcelona 2024”.

This financial aid is part of Barcelona City Council’s Pla Endreça, which provides grants to cover part of the cost of cleaning and/or paintwork carried out on the shutters of establishments with anti-graffiti paint primer, and to cover the cost of the maintenance service for the clean shutter for one year, counting from the date on which it is painted.

Nota informativa

Update (12/12/24): Presentation of expense justifications made, at most until 31 March 2025.

Go to procedure

This grant is in JUSTIFICATION PHASE.

  • Grants under this scheme can only be applied for by:

    • Non-profit local retailer associations that will carry out the project in the city of Barcelona.
    • Applicants must have a ground floor and/or street level commercial establishment within the urban area of the city of Barcelona. Municipal market stalls and all other collective commercial retail establishments, such as shopping centres, arcades and complexes, are not eligible.
    • The investment costs must align with the purpose of this scheme.
  • The costs which are eligible for the grant are those associated with cleaning and/or paintwork carried out on the shutters of the establishment using anti-graffiti paint primer and the costs of the maintenance service for the clean shutter for a period of 1 year counting from the day on which the shutter is painted.

The grant is €400 per shutter, up to a maximum of 3 shutters per establishment. This amount should cover between 30% and 70% of the total cost of the project. The applicant association’s project must include a minimum of 10 establishments.

  • The application submission period is from 21 May to 17 June 2024, both dates included.

  • The application documents must be submitted online through Barcelona City Council’s e-office.

Applicants must submit the following documents with their application:

    • Grant application form including a description of the project presented and an appendix with photographs of each of the shutters before they are painted.
    • Document showing the quote of the third party who is providing the service. It must include the Tax ID No. (NIF), registered name and address of this business, the name of the establishment where the services will be carried out, the number of shutters and the amount per establishment. The quotes must be issued between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2024.
    • Bank details.
