Projects or activities for which grants and subsidies will be awarded must promote activities of public or social interest for the city of Barcelona and be aimed at achieving the goals of the Barcelona Strategy for the Social and Solidarity Economy 2030 – to revitalise and strengthen an economy for life in the city – as well as the Municipal Plan to boost the social and solidarity economy in the city for 2021-2023. Projects seeking funding to promote and strengthen common elements that define the transformational character of the social and solidarity economy, such as democratic and participatory management, a focus on human needs and a commitment to the community, linked to the following:

• Promoting measures for awareness and dissemination, drive and visibility as an alternative economic model.

• Implementing measures to generate new social and solidarity economy initiatives in the city leading to the creation of jobs.

• Measures for the transformation of commercial companies, economic organisations and non-profit associations into organisations of the social and solidarity economy that give rise to stable and sustainable employment.

• Promoting measures to strengthen and enhance current social and solidarity economy initiatives.

• Putting in place measures to improve structure and cooperation and create hubs for attracting, scaling up and helping business activity grow.

• Activities directly linked to strategy areas, levers for support and the city’s goals in the SSE Strategy 2030 BCN, as well as city projects and work groups that develop them.

This subsidy call can benefit:

• Legal persons.

• Groups of legal persons, public or private.

• Groups of natural persons, including business people or individual business people, in the process of constituting a cooperative.

• Groups of natural persons from projects in the community and collaborative economy for the common good which have not been formalised.

• Any legal person with a cooperative transformation project.

The period for submitting applications will run from 8 March to 7 April 2022 (both dates inclusive).

By agreement of the Government Commission of September 15, 2022, the budget allocation has been increased by 199,715.76 euros, leaving the overall final budget of the call set at 1,099,715.76 euros
