In the context of an energy crisis in which higher energy prices and electricity bills are jeopardising the economic sustainability of commercial establishments and local services, measures must be taken to facilitate increased energy savings and efficiency. For this reason, Barcelona City Council, in accordance with the measures of the Energy Saving and Management Plan for Air Conditioning set forth in Royal Legislative Decree 14/2022, of 1 August, on energy savings, is promoting these subsidies with the aim of providing financial support to the city’s street-level commercial establishments, allowing them to introduce the appropriate measures in order to reduce their energy consumption and bring their installations into line with current regulations.

These subsidies will be processed on a non-competitive basis. The criterion for determining the order of access to the subsidy, when necessary, shall be the chronological order in which applications are submitted until the budget allocation is exhausted.

The expenditure(s) must have been incurred in the period between 1 August 2022 and 31 December 2023 (inclusive). Invoices dated up until 15 January 2024 may be accepted on an exceptional basis, provided that the invoice stipulates that the work was carried out during 2023.
