The City Council offers grants and subsidies for many things, ranging from social actions to commerce and youth policies. By far the biggest block, however, nearly 80% of the total, is for district and city activities.
The Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB) has approved the terms governing the awarding of subsidies equivalent to the amount payable under the 2018 landed property tax for cultural establishments offering private exhibitions or cultural commerce in the city of Barcelona.
ICUB's intention in announcing this call is to help cultural venues open to the public meet the cost of the landed property tax.
The application period is from 12 June to 3 July 2019 (both dates inclusive).
Legal persons who wish to apply for this subsidy must do so online through the Barcelona City Council procedures portal and natural persons can submit their application either online or in person. Applications can be submitted in person, by appointment only, at the Citizen Help and Information Offices (OAC) registry. Appointments can be made online at ajuntament.barcelona.cat/cita, by calling 010 or by mobile phone at barcelona.cat/tramitsalmobil.
