Budget and Finances

The budget is the financial reflection of the municipal strategy and priorities, where resources are allocated to those programs and actions that allow for greater progress towards the defined objectives. In this section you can consult the status of budget execution according to different views or classifications, as well as access the most relevant documentation related to the City Council's budgets.

The City Council is focused on obtaining results in terms of the European System of Accounts, in order to guarantee the solvency, stability and sustainability of municipal finances. In this section you can consult the forecast of the result for the current year, as well as the main financial reports of the City Council.

Barcelona City Council was one of the first in Spain to incorporate the ABC model, the English acronym for Activity Based Costing, as a system for calculating the costs of the services it provides, which includes the direct costs of each final activity and the indirect costs from the structure and therefore allows the unit cost indicators of the different municipal facilities and services to be obtained.
