La Calòrica is one of the resident companies for the 2018/19 season at Sala Beckett, venue for the premiere of Els ocells (The Birds), a project based on the work by Aristophanes.

In The Birds, Aristophanes attacks the democratic regime because in the origins of democracy there is also to be found comedy. This, then, is the basis of La Calòrica’s endeavour: penetrate into the origins of comedy to reflect on the concept of democracy; from the Spanish transition to the democratic crisis currently laying contemporary Europe to waste. A cabaret in satirical tones on the current state of politics.

Thursday 2 May – Sunday 26 May. Wed-Sat, 8:30pm, Sun, 6:30pm. Sala de baix.

9-18 €.
