Workshop: 'Riu Besòs: una membrana de la ciutat' (River Besòs: a city membrane’)

The Duae collective, formed by artists Silvia Campidelli and Luna Coppola and one of the resident groups at Fabra i Coats – Arts Factory, is behind the exhibition Besòs: A Noble Ecosystem which will be open to the public between 24 January and 3 March at Espai Zero. On the basis of this project, the workshop: Riu Besòs: una membrana de la ciutat has been arranged, whereby students from the ETSAB will make a detailed analysis of the urban environments of the river Besòs through a series of six 1:4000 scale maps. During the workshop, the students and the Duae collective will present to those in attendance a reinterpretation of these maps which will aim to highlight the particularities and the role of the built environment, evaluating residential and industrial fabrics, resources and institutions, open spaces, hierarchy of roads and its infrastructures. This contribution will enable an understanding of the form of this area and help to establish intervention criteria for improving the quality of life in this urban landscape. The results of the workshop will form part of the exhibition.

Saturday 23 February, 11:30am-2pm at Espai Zero

Event coordinated by Duae Collective in partnership with students from the Urbanística II course of the Departament d'Urbanisme i Ordenació del Territori at the ETSAB.
