From 15 to 17 June you can see the results of this creativity lab, a product of the arts factory La Beckett’s season, Les condicions del cervell (Conditions of the Mind), and which this creative space has brought to fruition jointly with the Fundació Joia, an organisation dedicated to mental health inclusion services.

Since October 2017, a group of individuals from the Fundació, alongside residents of Poblenou, have worked with the playwright Lali Álvarez and director Jorge-Yamam Serrano to develop a play. The project is part of the Ajuntament de Barcelona’s community creative arts project Art I Part and also involves the participation of other actors in the neighbourhood such as La Escocesa, Hangar, Can Felipa, ELS MALNASCUTS and the District of Sant Martí. The purpose of Encreuaments (Crossings) is to build links between Poblenou’s cultural outlets and ordinary residents so that an often-anonymous community is given a voice.

Encreuaments a Vanuatu (Crossings in Vanuatu) takes place from 15 to 17 June, in three one-off performances, at the Beckett’s Sala de Dalt (Upstairs Room). For more information, please consult the Sala Beckett’s website.
