Hangar #49 Paratext
Artists Carola Moujan and Vanessa Lorenzo present their projects.
16 December: Hangar holds its last paratext of the year. This is a monthly event where intern or resident artists from the Creation Factory present, in various formats, projects or parts of works currently in progress. These are sessions open to the public, aimed at promoting participation and interaction with artists. Furthermore, each paratext features the figure of a narrator who later publishes their impressions of the presentation on the blog.
This session will include, on the one hand, work by artist, designer, researcher, and teacher Carola Moujan, developed within the framework of the exchange programme between Casa de Velázquez and Hangar. Her research focuses on an exploration of the concept of interspace (entr’espace), an emerging quality resulting from the interlinking of complex interactive processes between spaces, temporariness, sensitive bodies, emotions, materials, and digital code in post-digital and more-than-human contexts.
The session will be rounded off with work by researcher and designer Vanessa Lorenzo, who received a residency as part of the Biofriction project. She is interested in things that explore the close interdependence between humans and the ecologies in which they are immersed, taking influences such as ethnofiction, feminist theory and the methodology of speculative design as a starting point.
The next paratext will take place this coming 16 December at 7 pm, in the Hangar's Sala Ricson.
