'Paratext' at Hangar
Public presentations by resident artists
Paratext are the sessions that Hangar organises once a month so their residents (regardless of whether they are doing a short or a long stay, or are international residents) can present their projects or parts of their work in different formats at the centre. These sessions are open to the public to encourage participation and interaction with the artists.
At the session on 25 April, the following artists will be presenting their projects: Albert Merino, a videoartist who explores various topics that fall halfway between playwriting and non-narrative expression; Sol Prado, who works within the audiovisual genre by creating fictions that parody and ridicule specific structures of society, she will be presenting No hay nada más lindo que obedecer; Isabelle Dehay creates video installations that invite viewers to experience a poetic and mental landscape; Ana García-Pineda works through installations, which combine large-scale drawings with sound, sculpture and video to reinvent actual stories from poetry and absurdity; and lastly, Josian Llorente Sesma whose work focuses on the study of the concept of the art “laboratory” and technology in cultural and educational fields, he is currently devoting his PhD to this research topic.
Paratext takes place at Hangar from 19:00 to 21:30 on one Wednesday a month.
The next session will be on 25 April at Sala Ricson.
