Project co- by La Escocesa
La Escocesa is working to create tools and solutions to respond to the Covid-19 crisis.
Face with the health, social and economic crisis caused by Covid-19 and the instability and the precariousness that this could cause in the artistic and cultural community, La Escocesa has created Project co-, in which its community of artists participate.
This ideas factory in Poblenou has a significant interest in non-digital technologies, bodies and materials in their physical state; this philosophy is in contrast with current thought, in which physical contact is considered dangerous and virtual connections are considered the only solution. For this reason, the centre has engaged research and support groups to come up with imaginative and safe ways to place our bodies back at the centre of the cultural stage in the coming months.
The main aim of these groups is to propose solutions to the issues generated by Covid-19 in the artistic and cultural sectors, in addition to facilitating the connection between citizens and culture beyond digital tools and combating the financial difficulties being experienced by the La Escocesa community and creating tools that can be used by other artists and fields across the city.
These working groups are coordinated as part of an extraordinary programme of 24 grants that La Escocesa has internally offered to its community, prioritising members currently considered most vulnerable.
