The project will comprise three phases:

- A first phase of discovery of contemporary circus, “Apropa’t al circ!” (“Join the Circus”), from October to December 2018, during which the collective of artists will propose to residents and local organisations a series of different events (visits, shared practices, open rehearsals, extended performance, screenings of circus documentaries etc.) with the aim of sharing with them their vision of the circus. There will be occasional performances which anyone from the area can attend if interested.

- A second phase of mutual understanding, from January to March 2019, in which both the collective of artists and the various local collectives will propose workshops to local residents. The aim of this phase is mutual understanding, exchange, sharing of ideas and influences, mutual enrichment, discovery of local knowledge in the areas of action, sharing and contribution to activities organised in specific relation to this programme. Some workshops will be organised by the collective, others by the various collectives in the neighbourhood. The participation of the steering committee will be fundamental in both cases.

- A third phase involving the creation of a show, from April to June 2019, (with a performance in July), during which, through regular sessions, there will be a final performance headed by the artists but with the active participation of the different organisations working on artistic events in the local area. The collective will be expected to take on the role of artistic partner in the creative process.

- The proposal must be submitted by a collective of artists. Ad hoc collaborations might also be considered.

- This collective will be responsible for both the artistic coordination of the project and the organisation and promotion of most of the gatherings and sessions, whether in the form of attendance at excerpts, visits to performances, etc. (first phase), joint workshops with local organisations (second phase) or creative sessions within the framework of the creation process (third phase).

- The frequency and time period of the sessions will be determined between the collective and local organisations so as to guarantee meaningful attendance and participation, especially during the first and second phases.

- The work will be focused on non-technical aspects of circus language, due to the improbability of being able to set up circus apparatus.

- The collective must take part in meetings with the different components of the project for the purpose of monitoring the project (meetings with the members of ART i PART, local organisations, or with the ART i PART committee and local areas from the 2018-2019 season). The full calendar of meetings will be prepared once the collective working on the project has been selected.

- The collective is expected to receive an overall remuneration of 7.000 € + IVA for the whole process (this includes travel and subsistence allowances as well as the fees of the members of the collective and their external partners).

Special consideration will be given to the relevance of the proposal to the programme’s aims. An agreement will be drawn up between the chosen project and La Central del Circ.
