For its fourth edition, Panoràmic looks into the concept of Extimity, of public and published intimacies, of the secrecy and privacy of images publicly shown.
This historic moment of social alarm and isolation seems to be transforming, thanks to the use of new technologies and social networks, into a moment of pure Extimity, where the internal becomes external. Where the limits of privacy are stretched by the Internet and users share their lives, blurring the borders between what’s public and what’s private. In other words, we are partaking in shared intimacy, in collective voyeurism, in aesthetics in search of the most revealing, indiscreet, exhibitionist angle.
Panoramic encourages artists from all over the world to imagine, create, document and elaborate images or testimonies of their privacy, personal spaces and inner side throughout this period of imposed isolation.
Artistic Discipline
This call accepts all types of photographic records taken with any device: conventional camera, tablet, smartphone, webcam, scanner, computer, etc.
Awards
The Jury will select some photographs to be exhibited at the Roca Umbert – Arts Factory during the opening days of the Festival. Festival Panoràmic will cover the production costs, respecting the authorship of the work.
Among the selected images, the jury will draw 5 signed copies of Prosopagnosia, a book by Joan Fontcuberta and Pilar Rosado.
The festival does not cover shipping costs outside Spain.
Conditions
Any individual over the age of 18 can take part.
Participants can submit as many pictures as they like.
The images must have been taken within the limits of the current Coronavirus lockdown.
Deadline
Applicants can participate during the time of the lockdown in their countries.
Liability and publicity release
The photographs participating in this call will be used by Panoràmic to communicate the winning projects and their authors. Participants expressly authorize Festival Panoràmic, in its capacity as organizer and promoter of this award and for the sole purpose of promoting and disseminating, to reproduce, distribute and communicate publicly (nationally and internationally), in and by any means, the images submitted.
Participants are accountable for all charges that may result from the use or disclosure of their images and for those that may arise from any actions, claims or conflicts, in particular but not exclusively, those relating to the possible breach of the intellectual or industrial property rights of third parties, or in cases of interference with the rights to honor, personal privacy and image. In the event of such charges, participants must notify the organization by sending an email to contacte@panoramicgranollers.cat
Acceptance of the rules
The festival has the right to resolve, in the way it deems appropriate, any aspect not foreseen by these rules. In the event of insurmountable disagreements with a selected work or author, the festival reserves the right to withdraw the work from the Panoramic 2020 program. Participation in this call implies acceptance of these rules.
Selection
The jury is composed by the festival team.
The jury’s opinion is irrevocable.
How to participate
Participants can use any of the following options:
- Posting a photo on Facebook tagging the Festival: @panoramicfestival. The photograph must include the hashtag: #panoramicfromhome
- Posting a photo on Instagram and tagging the festival http://www.instagram.com/panoramicfestival/ The photograph must include the hashtag: #panoramicfromhome
- Sending an image to this application form, taking the following specifications into account: JPG format, if possible 3200 px on the longest side, quality 12, 300 dpi resolution and they must be named as follows: surname_name.jpg
Note: if the camera/device you use doesn’t allow these specifications, do not worry and send it anyway.
