1. Natural adult persons.
2. A group of natural persons who, although a non-legal entity, individually comply with the established requirements for natural persons and hold the certifying documentation. In this case, the members of the group must designate a single representative who will act as such during the entire process. The proportion of each person’s participation must also be stated. If this is not specified, it will be understood that each person has equal participation.  
3. Artistic professionals able to show proof of an artistic curriculum with creative and exhibition activities with at least 5 years of experience and a Vocational Training Course or Higher Vocational Training Course in Art and/or Design, or a certificate equivalent to artistic professionalisation as workshop foreman in arts.

1- Contract price

The contract price is a total of 1,150 Euros (inclusive of VAT) that may be shared out between the following as the awardee sees fit, according to the artistic project and taking into consideration its origin:

1. Travel and expenses
2. Project development fees

The Town Hall will withhold, when appropriate, Personal Income Tax or Income Tax on Non-Residents to which the amounts paid are subject.

2- Spaces

Ceramics workshop of the Municipal School of Art (EMA) (within the normal opening hours of the La Mercè Cultural Centre) and material available in the workshop of a maximum value of 500€, when in accordance with the presented project and the agreed budget. And, in addition, other facilities at the Bòlit, Centre d’Art Contemporani. Girona and of the EMA.

3- Professional support from the Bòlit, Centre d’Art Contemporani. Girona

• Support, monitoring and accompaniment during the placement
• Guidance during the artist’s creative process
• Dissemination of the creative process during the residency and of the result
• Introduction of the artist into the local milieu and artistic community

4- Professional support from the Municipal School of Art

• Support and technical supervision from the School teacher during the entire process, dedicating a maximum of 25 hours/week between 2^nd September and 2^nd October
• Use of the ceramics workshop without the School teacher’s supervision during the remainder of the ceramics workshop’s opening hours and, if necessary, at other times to be arranged with the teacher
• Support in the exhibition design from a technical manager from the EMA and in setting up the exhibition from a professional expert in exhibition installations.

Obligations of the artist

• To develop the project in accordance with the presented proposal and with that agreed upon with the management of the Bòlit, Centre d’Art Contemporani. Girona and the administration of the Municipal School of Art
• To present a digital, written and graphic report documenting the residency and the development of the project, before 30^th March 2021
• To take part in the artistic activities of the EMA, Bòlit and the city
• To present documents and publications to be included in the documentation archive of the Bòlit, Centre d’Art Contemporani. Girona and to undertake to send new publications documenting the project for at least the next three years
• To put forward and carry out an informative or educational activity during the residency
• To offer an exhibition of the process or the finished work for display at the Bòlit, Centre d’Art Contemporani. Girona headquarters during the residency, to be agreed upon with the management of the Bòlit, Centre d’Art Contemporani. Girona
• To publicly present the results in the timeframe agreed upon with the management of the Bòlit, Centre d’Art Contemporani. Girona and the EMA, once the residency is finished
• To donate an item of the finished work or series resulting from the execution of the contract, to the Collection of Contemporary Art of the Gerona Town Hall and to take responsibility for the removal of the rest of the production which remains the property of the artist

The selection will be made in accordance with that stipulated in this call for proposals. To that effect, a proposal for the formulation of a concise idea within the subject of the contest should be presented before the contracting body. This should include:

• Basic idea or creative concept of the artistic project
• A proposal of activities to be carried out as talks or open studios at the end of the residency and exhibition, dates in 2020 to be agreed upon by both parties
• Study of technical viability and of estimated production costs

The jury will be made up of:

• The director of the Bòlit Centre d’Art Contemporani. Girona, Carme Sais Gruart or the person replacing her or assuming her functions
• Two teachers from the Municipal School of Art:
• Manel Bayo Rigau
• Providència Casals Masferrer
• Two intermediary level technicians from the Bòlit, Centre d’Art Contemporani. Girona, Farners Cabra Piris and Diana Sans Fraile

• Innovative and novel ideas that correspond to the styles and areas of interest typical of contemporary thinking and creation: 2 points
• Proposals for informative actions and activities included in the project that disseminate its content within the local environment and with local representatives: 2 points
• The technical and economic viability of the creative project and its exhibition: 3 points
• The impact of the project on the city of Gerona and its surrounding area: 2 points
• Collaboration with the local artistic sector: 1 point

If necessary, participants may be invited to answer questions which the jury has included in the public document in order to clarify any aspect of the projects, and full minutes of the conversation between the members of the jury and the participants will be drawn up. ​
