Call for applications for residency and final performance at La Mercè 2023
La Central del Circ is once again collaborating with the La Mercè Street Arts Festival, during Barcelona‘s big annual festival, or festa major, which is taking place on 23 and 24 September. As on other occasions, the aim is to present a contemporary circus project at Montjuïc Castle.
For this reason, a call for applications is being launched, in order to select artistic projects that will have the chance of undergoing a residency process lasting between two and four weeks at La Central del Circ. There will be a subsequent exhibition, in the form of a performance in the street and/or a public space, as part of the MAC Festival.
The aim is to showcase the work of circus companies, especially concerning projects designed for these formats, which can develop technically and in terms of research and authorship.
Two projects lasting approximately 20 minutes each, or a single project lasting 45-50 minutes will be selected.
The performances will be on 23 and 24 September, with the montage scheduled for 22 September. The times of the performances have not yet been determined, but the priority is to schedule them in the afternoon.
Anyone interested has until 18 June to submit their applications.
