Characteristics of the call
This international announcement from art centre Homesession is offering a residency for artists and art professionals seeking to develop their research or projects in Barcelona. The opportunity includes accommodation and workspace for a period ranging from one week to three months, but priority will be given to requests for two-month stays.
Terms
The cost of the residency is €550 for two months. The price includes accommodation and workspace. Travel expenses and meal allowances are not included. Some materials expenses may be covered.
The accommodation includes an 18 m² first floor flat with one bedroom, a workspace/living room and a private bathroom.

There is also the option of showcasing work in Homesession’s exhibition space for a period of up to two weeks, depending on availability.
Homesession commits to supporting resident artists with:
- Support and recommendation letters when requesting external funding
- Individual sessions with curators
- Visits to the gallery and other events at Homesession
- Introduction to artists, art professionals and organisations from the sector
- Invitations to private views, events and other opportunities to meet professionals from the art sector
- Presentations in small groups (talks, screenings, open days and shows)
Calendar
There are two selection processes each year, which take place in January and July. Please bear in mind that Homesession plans its residencies 6 months in advance. Therefore, allocations of residencies that will run from 1 July to 30 December are published around 30 April, and allocations of residencies that will run from 1 January to 30 June of the following year are announced around 30 October.
