Refectory
Founded in 1326, the Reial Monestir de Santa Maria de Pedralbes is one of the best examples of the Catalan Gothic style. It is an outstanding illustration of its type, since it has been occupied by the Order of St. Clare community continuously from its foundation to the present day. It has numerous works of art, liturgical items and furniture, which the Order of St. Clare community has collected throughout its centuries in the monastery.
The Refectory is the part of the Monastery where the faithful congregate for their daily meals in silence, while a sister reads aloud texts from the Holy Scriptures.
