Cloister
Founded in 1326, the Reial Monestir de Santa Maria de Pedralbes is one of the best examples of the Catalan Gothic style. It is an outstanding illustration of its type, since it has been occupied by the Order of St. Clare community continuously from its foundation to the present day. It has numerous works of art, liturgical items and furniture, which the Order of St. Clare community has collected throughout its centuries in the monastery.
The Monastery’s three floors surround the spacious cloister - the biggest in Europe – which is enclosed by the main rooms: the Dormitory, the Refectory, the Chapter House, the Abbey and the day cells.
