| When a space is hired for more than two consecutive days, for each additional day thereafter a discount of 30% will be applied to the daily rate. When a space is hired for over seven days, for each additional day thereafter a discount of 50% will be applied to the daily rate.A full day includes the opening hours of the centre. If the activity is extended in time slots outside the opening hours of the centre, 1/8 part of the fee will be charged for each hour that overtime, with a minimum of 3/8.Classrooms cannot extend opening hours of the centre. | |||
| Other spaces To hire other spaces managed by the Institute of Culture or by the Barcelona Natural Science Museum Consortium that are not included in the table above, the rates below will be applied in relation to the space used and the duration of the event: Category 1: (To 100 m2): Full Day: 500/Half Day: 425/Cultural Use:325 Category 2: (From 101 to 250 m2): Full Day: 1.586/Half Day: 1.348/Cultural Use:1.031 Category 3: (From 251 to 500 m2): Full Day: 2.555/Half Day:2.172/Cultural Use:1.661 Category 4: (More ofe 500 m2): Full Day:3.000/Half Day: 2.550/Cultural Use: 1.950 (Amounts in euros) Additional days and services. a) For each additional day of mounting and/or dismounting, a discount of 50% will be applied to the full-day rate. This discount will only be applied if said work does not interfere with the day-to-day running of a venue or guided tour. b) In the event that it is necessary to supplement utility supplies, security or cleaning, applicants must assume the costs incurred. Reduced rate space hire A 50% discount will be made if the applicant for space hire is a public body, a trade union organisation or a political party placing an application through a municipal group. Priority will be given to political parties with representation in Barcelona City Council. Free space hire a) The Martí l’Humà Hall (MUHBA), the Verger courtyard at the Frederic Marès Museum, the conference hall at the Barcelona Natural Science Museum, the conference hall at the City of Barcelona Historical Archive, all spaces at Montjuïc Castle, the auditorium at Design Hub Barcelona, the conference hall at Santa Maria de Pedralbes Royal Monastery, the Moragues Hall and the conference hall at the Edifici Annex and at the Born Culture and Memory Centre respectively, may all be hired free of charge, up to a maximum of once a month, by organisations working for the common good (for instance, cultural, civic, educational, scientific, health, sport, social care or advancement and environmental protection organisations, among others) when they carry out non-profit activities related to their specific goals, in accordance with their statutes and, preferably, when the event is open to the public. Organisations benefitting from free space hire will be charged for expenses incurred by public utilities, security, cleaning and others that result from the use of the space. b) Applications for free space hire will be attended to strictly in order of request. Priority will be given to applications from associations that have not benefitted from this exemption previously. The use of the space and the hosting of activities must not interfere or disrupt the venue’s day-to-day running. A record will be kept with notes explaining the free use described in this section and organisations will be able to refer to it upon request. c) Spaces in the Palau de la Virreina venue will be hired free of charge to organisations that pursue cultural objectives if and when these are non-profit and open to the general public. In order to establish the cultural relevance of an activity, a favourable report needs to be issued by the ICUB’s directorate for cultural action and promotion. In these instances, organisations benefitting from free space hire will nevertheless be charged for expenses incurred by public utilities, security and cleaning and others that result from the use of the space. Use of spaces and the hosting of activities must not interfere or disrupt the venue’s day-to-day running. d) When spaces are strictly hired for filming feature-length films, short films, television productions, music videos, mock-ups or for photographic sessions, there will be no hire charge if and when the cultural action does not have advertising purposes. If other additional spaces are required within the venue, for complementary purposes and auxiliary to the filming, these will be charged at the corresponding rate with a 75% discount on each one. In all instances, space hire will be subject to both availability and to the compatibility of the use with the venue’s day-to-day running and with the overriding need to protect and conserve heritage. Official contracts The specific provisions relating to venue/space hire and to any applicable supplementary services will be duly set out in an official contract that will also state the venue/space hire rates in accordance with this municipal bylaw. | |||
