The Guinardó-Mercè Rodoreda Library recommends from the Local Collection ... "Barcelona: última copa"

Local collection. July 2023. Every quarter the Guinardó-Mercè Rodoreda Library displays a document from the local collection so people can get to know a bit more about the works of Mercè Rodoreda, everything to do with the district of Horta-Guinardó and Barcelona.

In this collection of comic strips, Cifré portrays the Barcelona nightlife of the 1980s with a lucid, ironic and incisive perspective. In them, he invites us to one last drink, with lots of humour and colour, two things that he skilfully used in his work.

Guillem Cifré i Barrabín (Barcelona, 1952-2014), son of Guillem Cifré i Figuerola, who was also a draughtsman, began his professional career in the 1970s, in the field of graphic humour for newspapers and magazines. Among other awards, he has received the 2006 Premi Junceda for Graphic Humour and the 2009 National Comic Award of Catalonia.
