(Re)discover La Rambla tours return
The Amics de La Rambla offer 18 free tours to explore its history. Two new tours are on offer this year: one focusing on the La Mercè neighbourhood and the other on the settings of the novel "La señorita de la calle Avinyó", by Barcelona-born writer Pedro Hache.

From 27 March to 25 April, the Amics de La Rambla are once again offering 18 free walking tours with (Re)discover La Rambla, an opportunity to learn about the history of this beloved street and the city itself.
The tours are part of La Rambla: A New Urban Tourism Model, a project supported by Barcelona City Council and GetYourGuide. The tours are partially funded by the tourist tax.
This cross-cutting project contributes to the economic revival of the city centre. The tours connect visitors and residents with the cultural, design, artistic, social and retail sectors of the old quarter, and turn La Rambla into a pathway for transformation towards a model of sustainable urban tourism that respects and promotes Barcelona’s traditions and history. It is also an opportunity for the people of Barcelona to reconnect with La Rambla and reclaim it as their own.
New this year
This year sees the launch of two new tours. The La Mercè: Barcelona’s first Seaside District tour takes visitors through stately buildings and convents, relive horse races, and tells the stories of murdered noblemen – all within the small neighbourhood of La Mercè, which runs along a single street and once played the same role that La Rambla plays today.
The Tour of the Settings from the Novel La señorita de la calle Avinyó is led by the author himself, Barcelona-born writer Pedro Hache, and relives the story of the novel in Roman and medieval Barcelona, its Jewish quarter and the city at the beginning of the 20th century.

Three online tours
The Façades of La Rambla is a tour that takes you from Plaça de Catalunya to Port Vell, offering an open-air museum of some of the street’s most striking façades. La Rambla in Cinema is a cinematic journey through the corners of La Rambla that have featured in a range of films, while People of La Rambla tells the stories of the poets, musicians and actors who have left their mark on its squares and streets.
These walking tours are designed as interactive games along La Rambla, with questions to answer using a mobile device.
