Studies and assessments
The Department of Economy, Resources and Economic Promotion carries out, through its Research Department, a continuous task of analysis, preparation of indicators and knowledge management for the design and management of municipal policies in the field of the economy, employment and strategic sectors, and monitors current and future trends in economic activity and the labour market in the city, -with this prospective- the definition of new strategic lines to be developed.

- Analysis of economic, social, environmental and international positioning indicators for the promotion of the city.
- Analysis of the potential and trends of the strategic sectors for the economy of Barcelona.
- Evaluation of public policies for economic promotion.
- Analysis of the activity and business climate in the Barcelona area and micro-territorial analysis of the productive fabric and business demography in the city.
- Monitoring of the city's economic hubs through a systematic series of economic, business and employment indicators.
- Drafting of technical reports which, on the basis of economic, social and environmental indicators, analyse the characteristics and potential of Barcelona's economy and its international position with a view to contributing to the promotion of the city.
- Promotion, supervision and monitoring of studies on topics of interest for the development of the economy of Barcelona within the framework of the Chair of Urban Economics (UB) and/or with other stakeholders in the ecosystem.
- Conducting, supervising and monitoring studies, reports and infographics on strategic sectors of Barcelona's economy.
- Monitoring and evaluation of the measures approved by the Economic Response Coordination Centre (CECORE).
- Socio-economic analysis of the territory and of the main socio-demographic profiles.
- Analysis of the productive profile of the territory and its specialisation.
- Dissemination and analysis of the results of the Business Climate Survey of the AMB.

Analysis of the economic and employment situation in Barcelona

CECORE Observatory: Planning project to prepare and analyse indicators concerning the economy, the job market and business in Barcelona and its areas of reference to monitor the evolution and impact of the Covid-19 crisis, with a special focus on the strategic sectors. Developed within the framework of the Economic Response Coordination Centre (CECORE) and in collaboration with Deloitte. The Observatory publishes the Barcelona Economic Flash, a periodic report that analyses the evolution of the economy, the labour market and Barcelona's strategic sectors.

Briefs, infographics and diagnosis of the labour market in Barcelona: documents that analyse the basic data of registered unemployment in the city with comparison by territorial areas and analysis by sector, sex, age, employment, unemployment profile and unemployment rate by districts of the city, as well as labour recruitment and the main labour indicators of the profiles/groups that are a priority objective of active employment policies.
