Another year of “The Mayor within reach”
The Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, will again be working from a different city district for a few days each month this year. The initiative began in October 2023, with the Mayor looking to engage more closely with local people in all city neighbourhoods, gain proximity to people and come into more direct contact with local organisations, shopkeepers, facilities, public spaces, companies, students, district workers and all inhabitants and social stakeholders in the city.

“The Mayor within reach” in Sant Andreu
The Mayor, Jaume Collboni, will be setting up his office in the district of Sant Andreu from 1 to 5 April and taking part in various activities in the neighbourhoods, with a specific agenda to engage with people in every area. He will also be meeting local residents from the district in the “Talk to the Mayor” sessions during the week of 14 April.
District by district
The new round of “The Mayor within reach” began in Sarrià – Sant Gervasi, with the Mayor based at the district office during the week of 7 January. During the week, Jaume Collboni visited the new municipal offices, the Escola Tàber and the new Bibilioteca de Sarrià J. V. Foix. He also met some local residents to exchange impressions and take note of any concerns.
The Mayor transferred his office to the District of L’Eixample from 4 to 12 February, where he had a face-to face meeting with local residents. He also had a meeting with students from the Institut Fort Pius, visited the shopping and associations hub in the district, plus the Mujeres Palates organisation and the LGBTI Centre.
From 5 to 12 March, the Mayor transferred his office to the District of Sants-Montjuïc.. Over these days, besides the meetings with government bodies that are usually held in the City Hall in Pl. Sant Jaume and in the usual offices, Jaume Collboni met local people, organisations and shopkeepers.
