Catalogue of the Arxiu Fotogràfic de Barcelona exhibition "Consuelo Bautista. Raval" (2012). The proposal offered by Consuelo Bautista is a series of photographic micro-narratives in which the main characters are the very people that live or spend time in El Raval. The artist has shied away from the neighbourhood’s stigmas and her work joins the contemporary trends that define El Raval as an area of maximum plurality, where those who dwell there as well as those passing through interact with each other and with the public space with an energy and a diversity of tone that have converted this neighbourhood—in many ways on the outskirts in the very heart of Barcelona—into a melting pot of urban culture.
