Anna Gual

Anna Gual is a poet and the author of eight poetry collections: Implosions (2008), L’ésser solar (2013), Símbol 47 (2015), Molsa (2016), El tubercle (2016), Altres semideus (2019), Ameba (2020) and Les ocultacions (2022). In 2025 she published the anthology Jo tinc una mort petita, a selection of poems about the grief of losing a child. Her many accolades include the Pare Colom, Bernat Vidal i Tomàs, Senyoriu Ausiàs March, Rosa Leveroni and Miquel de Palol awards. Gual’s work has been translated into French, Italian and Spanish, and her poems have appeared in international magazines such as Poetry Magazine, Harvard Review and Modern Poetry in Translation. Most recently, the Spanish translation of Les ocultacions (Las ocultaciones) was published by Vaso Roto in 2025. She has participated in festivals and residencies in various European countries. Her poetry explores themes such as nature, the body and spirituality. Some of her poems have been put to music by artists and groups including OMAC and Judit Nedderman. She has also collaborated with the Palau de la Música Catalana and runs various shows that combine poetry with music.
