Enric Jardí Soler was born in Barcelona in 1964. He studied graphic design at Elisava and began teaching at the same school in 1988.
He worked at various design studios from 1983 onwards, and in 1992 founded the studio Propaganda, which he ran until 1998, when he set out with his own independent practice. In 1991, he and other designers formed the typeface-design group Type-Ø-Tones, which develops typefaces distributed by FontShop.
His work focuses primarily on editorial design and corporate identity. His clients include public institutions, art centres, publishing houses and universities both in Spain and internationally.
He has been a lecturer and course coordinator at a number of design schools, including Elisava, Eina, IE School (Madrid), the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi (Finland), Blanquerna – Ramon Llull University and UPF Barcelona School of Management. From 2005 to 2009, he served as president of the Art Directors and Graphic Designers Association (ADG-FAD).
He is the author of Pensar con imágenes (Thinking with Images) (Editorial GG, 2012), Cinquanta i tants consells sobre tipografia (Fifty-something Tips on Typography) (Editorial GG, 2021) and Per què les pàgines són així (Why Are Pages Like That?) (Editorial GG, 2023), all of which have been translated into several languages.
He has received numerous awards, including the European Design Awards, Laus, D&AD Awards and the Malofiej Awards for Infographics. In October 2009, he was awarded the National Culture Award for Design by the Government of Catalonia.
