Ferran Dordal Lalueza
Dordal holds a degree in Humanities and Dramatic Arts, and since 2004 he has presented various shows and performance art pieces as a director, playwright and occasional performer, including To the Happy Few (Temporada Alta, 2006), autopsicografia (Festival PNRM, 2011), La gran mentira (Grec Festival, 2016), Telepatisches Café, with Alexander Manuiloff (Rodeo München, 2016), Reiseführer (Teatre Lliure, 2019), Poesia per l’Zlatan (TNC, 2020), Asesinato de un fotógrafo (Sala Beckett, 2023) and Weltschmerz (working title) (Fundació Brossa, 2025).
As a playwright and theatre consultant, he has also worked with Carlota Subirós, Àlex Rigola, Alícia Gorina, Sílvia Delagneau, Pau Masaló, Vivian Friedrich and Clara Aguilar, among others. Between 2012 and 2020, he collaborated with Agrupación Señor Serrano as co-creator of several shows, including A House in Asia (winner of the Leone d’Argento at the Venice Biennale), Birdie and The Mountain.
He has received several awards and distinctions, both individually and collectively, including the Institut del Teatre Advanced Studies Award, the Critics’ Award for Best Small-Format Show in 2019, and the Critics’ Award for Best Playwriting/Adaptation in 2020. He also received the special Carlota Soldevila 2020/21 Creation Grant from Teatre Lliure, as well as the Carme Montoriol 2022 Playwriting Grant from ICUB. In 2014, he was invited to participate in the Internationales Forum at the Theatertreffen in Berlin, and in 2018, in the Theatre Is A Must Forum in Alexandria.
