Ingrid Guardiola

Ingrid Guardiola, born in Girona in 1980, holds a PhD in Humanities from Pompeu Fabra University and is a University of Girona lecturer, an essayist, an audiovisual director and a cultural researcher. Her work explores the sociocultural relations forged between culture, technology and society, as well as issues such as inequality and gender.

She was the director of Bòlit, Contemporary Art Centre of Girona from 2021 to 25, and has curated more than thirty exhibitions.

With extensive experience in cultural management, she worked on projects at the CCCB for seventeen years, including the video essay programme ‘Soy cámara’ [I’m a Camera]. She has also coordinated events including MINIPUT, the Audiovisual Market of Catalonia and the Primavera Pro On-Screen, and has served on different consultative and cultural governance bodies, including the Barcelona City Council Culture Council, the Teatre Lliure Advisory Council and the Hangar Board of Trustees.

In 2017, she released her first feature-length documentary, Casa de ningú (Boogaloo Films, Open Society Foundations, CCCB). She has published several essays, including L’ull i la navalla: un assaig sobre el món com a interfície (Serra d’Or Critics’ Award in the essay category), Fils. Cartes sobre el confinament, la vigilància i l’anormalitat (Arcàdia, 2020) with Marta Segarra, and La servitud dels protocols (Arcàdia).
