Marina Saez

Marina Sáez, born in Barcelona in 1988, studied architecture and combines teaching with creating books for children and adults alike. Her projects include La Finestra Indiscreta [The Nosy Window] (MTM, 2023), which received an honourable mention at the 2025 BolognaRagazzi Awards and was one of Ibbycat’s Best Books by a Catalan Author in 2023, and El Museu Perdut [The Lost Museum] (MTM, 2022), shortlisted for the Bologna and a 2023 Junceda Award. She is also the author Barrejacolors [Mixing Colours] (MTM, 2021) and Bullying (Flamboyant, 2022). The fieldwork for Aiguagim [Water Gym] (2024), her graphic novel for adults, won the 2022 Finestres Award, and the novel itself won awards at the Valencia and Barcelona comic cons. Sáez also illustrates for advertising campaigns and is a member of the Pink Pixel Collective. She has had exhibitions in cities such as Barcelona, Athens, Berlin and Chicago.
