Màrius Serra (Barcelona, 1963) is a writer. His literary work, translated into seven languages, has received awards including the City of Barcelona, Serra d’Or, Lletra d’Or, Ramon Llull and Sant Jordi prizes. He has published over 12,000 crosswords, 5,000 articles and around 30 books, among them Mon oncle (My Uncle), La vida normal (The Normal Life), Verbàlia, Farsa (Farse), Quiet, Plans de futur (Plans for the Future), Res no és perfecte a Hawaii (Everything Is Far from Perfect in Hawaii), La novel·la de Sant Jordi (Saint George’s Novel) and La dona més pintada (The Most Painted Woman). He has translated into Catalan works by Edmund White, Tom Sharpe, Groucho Marx, Henry Miller and Tom Stoppard, among others. His updated version of the classic Tirant lo Blanc by Joanot Martorell has been widely acclaimed by specialists and enjoyed great popular success. It has even been adapted for the stage. He is currently working on two series: Les aventures de la Napeu (The Adventures of Napeu), for readers aged 8 to 98, and the Comas i Coma series, the fourth instalment of which is El rol del Roc (Roc’s Role).
