Rocío Bonilla

Rocío Bonilla (Barcelona, 1970) holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and has worked as a designer, painter and teacher. She now devotes most of her time to illustrating books and painting murals for children. As the mother of three, she remains constantly fascinated by the unique and extraordinary worlds they create and by their remarkable generosity and determination to share them with others.

She began her career as a publishing illustrator with Cara de pájaro (Bird Face), her first solo picture book. She is also the author of the international best-seller What Colour Is a Kiss?, which has been translated into more than twenty languages and read by over 300,000 readers worldwide. Her other books include La montaña de libros más alta del mundo (The World’s Tallest Book Mountain), ¡Hermanos! (Brothers and Sisters!), ¿Te aburres, Minimoni? (Are You Bored, Minimoni?), Los fantasmas no llaman a la puerta (Ghosts Don’t Knock at the Door) (with writer Eulàlia Canal), Max y los superhéroes (Max and the Superheroes) (with Oriol Malet) and Abuelos, pirañas y otras historias (Grandparents, Piranhas and Other Stories), among others.
