The search for identity

When we think about the great literary themes, identity is undoubtedly one of them. These three authors address it in their own way, from different perspectives and across different genres. Fer Rivas explores identity in her book Yo era un chico, which tells her own story: faced with a dying father, she reflects on her life and who she is. Elisenda Solsona takes up this search for identity, closely tied to parenthood, in Mammalia, through characters who are wounded and adrift. Clara Usón also does so in Las fieras, featuring two women marked by their family situation and by an environment steeped in violence and death.
